What we Do…
Malawi is a diverse and friendly country and is renowned for being the warm heart of Africa. Yet historically there have been social issues such as HIV/ Aids, Gender Inequality and limited formal Education. In addition to this there is little value placed upon sport and play within mainstream activities and culture, something epitomised by the lack of recognition of PE on many curriculums. Sport Malawi believes that sport and play has the ability to contribute to overcoming these social problems and therefore we seek to work with a variety of practitioners in Malawi to deliver contextually specific workshops underpinned by social justice to enhance practitioners skills, whilst also empowering them to take ownership over their lives.
3 Aims of Sport Malawi
Provide students with a challenging and dialogical learning experience, seeking to empower learners to realise and fulfil their ambitions.
to build strong dialogical relationships ad empower local practitioners to take ownership of their lives
To provide an authentic and transparent contribution to the Sport for Development sector, alongside building relationships and sharing examples of best practice.
